EBOOKS AND AUDIO FILES

First up here's the link the ebooks and audio files (no videos yet) that can form the basis of a continuous health, fitness and wellbeing campaign for your staff.

In the main the books come with a seminar presentation, but they're sustainable in their own right.

A WEEK AT A TIME

The suggestion is that you run a particular campaign for at least a week. You can distribute the books by email (attachment) and prepare follow-up messages throughout the weeks, based on sections of the ebooks.

HOW TO GET A GOOD NIGHT'S SLEEP WEEK

The 'How to get a Good Night's Sleep' ebook and the audio file that goes with it form the basis of the 'sleep week'. A high proportion of people don't sleep as well as they'd like. Some take longer than they feel they need to get to sleep. Some keep waking up during the night. Some don't get as much of the deep sleep as they know they need. As for the audio file, of people can find a way to get it onto their phones, all they need to do is stick in the ear piece, crank up the audio file and drift off with the fairies.

HEALTH CLIMATE SURVEY

Send every one a copy of the Health Climate Survey. Encourage them to fill it in and then lets see at the time of the next health seminar if they've been able to lower their score. The information is personal - not for sharing.

Those who complete it can be given any of the following tokens of appreciation!

GREEN TEA WEEK

Too much caffeine at work is probably not a good idea. If you had a program to wean people of coffee and 'ordinary' tea and replace it with green tea, then they may avoid the ups and downs that come with caffeine addiction.

How 'bout a green tea week?

We want to encourage people to re-hydrate through the day without 'weighing' themselves down with caffeine.

The benefits of green tea are legion.

WATER BOTTLE - and bag

Have you thought about giving your staff a water bottle. The nature of the bottle would depend on where they work.

The object of the exercises is to drink 'n' bottles of water a day.

What better look is there than a water bottle at the front of a ute, truck or grader?

'What ever you do, just don't smoke.'

Believe it or not there are still people who still smoke. The cost to their health - and the housekeeping - is high.

A small percentage are incorrigible. They're not ready to give up. They don't want to be nagged. But give the encouragement, there is a percentage who would like to give 'giving up' a try.

The program outlines the costs of smoking and the benefits of breathing just fresh air.

It comes with an inner mental training program.

LOW ALCOHOL BEER

They say that a 'hard earned thirst needs a big cold beer.'

But do people drink for the taste or the alcoholic kick.

A suggestion. Get Coopers to 'sponsor' your health days. Introduce your staff to a next-to-no-alcohol beer. The beer is available from Woolworths super markets. A Coopers Birrell beer and a few nibbles at some of your social functions maybe just the way to get people thinking about taste, and not just 'alcohol'.

20M RUN - test of aerobic fitness

The 20m run is the gold standard test of metabolic health for 'regular folks'. Most people have had every test under the sun to determine their metabolic health status but never the 20m run.

All people have to do is see how many laps of a 20m course they can complete in 5 minutes - walk, shuffle, jog or run.

Participants receive a copy of the 20m run ebook that includes information about what their scores mean.

Anyone who completes the test and comes forward to share their results is certainly worthy of a health campaign token of appreciation!
